About KGSA
KGSA is a quality fastpitch softball program for young ladies that reside in the Kearney area. KGSA is a non-profit organization. The purpose of this league is to teach girls ages 9 to 18 the skills required to play fast pitch softball while having fun. KGSA strives to develop in its players a sense of self-esteem, pride and sportsmanship, confidence, motivation and leadership.Our goal is to provide a quality recreational, educational, and socially fulfilling softball experience for all participants, coaches, and parents. This is a recreational league and is designed as a fun learning experience.
Divisions
KGSA teams are divided into 4 age groups - 10 & under, 12 & under, 14 & under and 18 & under. There are no cuts or tryouts with this league. At sign up your daughter will be placed in her age group according to her age as of December 31. All players in the 10 and 12 year old leagues are asked to attend a skill assessment day for the purpose of team drafts. Teams are drafted in April. Coaches will contact polayers with team name, practice times and game schedules. Practices are usually twice a week prior to games, with games starting in late May and ending in early July. There is an end of season tournament during the second week of July.
